QUALITY MATERIALS

Top quality materials are central to producing high performance skis. From hand-picked cores to racing bases we ensure only the best goes into your skis.

CORE

The core is central to top performance so only top quality wood goes into the core of our skis.

  • High Performance: The standard high-performance designs utilise hand-selected bamboo or ash wood which are the optimal natural materials for high response and pop in your skiing.
  • Ultra-Light: The ultra-light designs incorporate bCore from Bcomp.  bCore is the lightest wood core on the market, combining low density flat balsa wood veneers with specifically tailored flax shear webs. The result is a high-performance lightweight core with excellent shear and fatigue properties and provide typical “woody” feeling. When combined with carbon/flax reinforcement these skis are 30% lighter. A favourite for back-country skis, and more popular on the slopes for a less tiring day that is easier on the knees.
  • Power Core: For those that crave to carve on the front-side this is the ultimate core packed with technology features, and 20% lighter. More information here.
    • Power Lens: a solid Ash lens is at the center for amazing grip and pop that only comes from hand-picked, hard-wood cores
    • Feather Tip & Tail: the power lens tapers into light-weight bCore in the tip in tail for low swing weight so you can initiate turns with ease with less tiring to ride, less stress on the knees = more runs before you get tired
    • Preload Camber: precision machining builds the ski camber into the core (conventional cores are flat). This unique process means that the core builds carving pressure earlier in your turns, making them easier to initiate, quicker to generate carving pressure and cut cleaner.

REINFORCEMENT

  • High Performance: The standard high-performance designs utilise triaxial fiberglass specifically developed for high performance skis to obtain the optimal combination of stiffness profile and torsional rigidity.
  • Light weight: The light and ultra-light designs incorporate triaxial carbon fiber / ampliTex reinforcement around the high performance or ultra-light wood core.  Carbon is a great weight saver, but it can produce a nervous ski as it wants to snap back quickly when flexed. AmpliTex is a next-generation natural flax fibre material that contributes to the stiffness, but most importantly has great dampening. The combination of the snappy carbon with dampening ampliTex makes this one of the smoothest riding carbon skis you will find.

BASE

A fast base makes riding easier, and of course keeps you ahead of your friends… So we use the best. Sintered UHMW-PE is a world-cup race quality base of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene with high quality carbon black, modified with special fluor and paraffin based additives, for better gliding in a wide range of conditions. Great wax hold reduces the frequency needed to wax and keep great glide.

EDGES

Great performance needs high quality edges. Our edges feature high wear resistance, toughness, optimal lubricity, optimized adhesion properties, high breaking strength and high corrosion resistance.

SIDEWALLS

For the ultimate technical design the flex characteristics of the sidewalls are matched to the core. We use laminated bamboo for this as well as great durability and relatively light-weight.

TOPSHEET

We use a nylon topsheet in either clear or white that is specifically designed for skis. This protects the skis, and allows us to add your graphics to produce your unique look. For those looking to save every last gram we also offer a resin coat on wood veneer, which is less resilient but saves precious weight.

TIP AND TAIL PROTECTION

It may seem like a detail, but the tips and tails can take a beating on and off the slopes, so we include protection. A titanal layer is included in the tip so when they ride up on each other the edges don’t shave the side of the tip off as quickly. Elastolan inserts protect the tail from bumps and bruises along the way.
